A Vision of Students Today

I just stumbled across this youtube video and found it very interesting. It's from the Digital Ethnography working group at Kansas State University http://mediatedcultures.net/ksudigg/

That was pretty interesting especially the one about being in debt after graduation. That was real! And you know, while these may be staggering stats from students (try saying that 3 times fast, lol), the fact is that it's the truth about how technology has affected our world for the good and the not-so-good. My daughter takes her ipod to class (high school) and even when I attended junior college, I remember students bringing their laptops to class to 'take notes', but hardly ever working on schoolwork for surfing the 'net.

Multitasking was another good one since college students are introduced to adult life by sometimes working part-time, playing in sports, making time to eat, sleep, have a social life, go to class, and study as well as complete homework assignments. It's amazing at what all a college student endures for those 4-5 years prior to graduation all with the aid of technology, which seems to improve each and every year. It's truly amazing!!!
